How I Create Pinterest Video Pins
Creating Pinterest video pins is similar to writing blog posts.
Come up with a catchy title, plan out your video, create your video (or outsource it), link to a blog post, and Publish.
I like to keep things simple, so I came up with a simple and effective to create my Pinterest video pin content.
There are 2 main ways to come up with your videos:
1.) Use my Pin-Hacking Method
2.) Use your already popular blog articles
The Pin-Hacking Method
There’s this really awesome software called ClickFunnels, that I use to create all of my landing pages to collect leads and sales pages to sell my digital programs.
The ClickFunnels community came up with this slogan called “Funnel Hacking.”
With funnel hacking, you find a converting sales funnel to create a similar, unique funnel using the same elements as that funnel.
I’ve personally used funnel hacking sell tens of thousands of digital programs.
With “Pin-Hacking” you find popular pins and you “hack” them.
The easiest ways to pin-hack is to search using keywords for your niche.
For example, if I want to make a video about keto meal plans, I would search for “meal plan for keto” then look at what videos or pins are at the top of the search result.
As you can see, you have 10-12 ideas of what Pinterest is showing people.
From this, I could do a few different video pins:

The other method for coming up with video content is to just use your already popular blog articles and turn them into short videos.

7 Tips For Creating Awesome Pinterest Video Pins
Below I’m going to provide you with the 7 most important things for creating Pinterest Video pins.
1.) Come Up With A Good Hook
Regardless of the platform, whenever you use video, it’s crucial to hook the viewer as soon as possible.
If you fail to grab their attention within the first few seconds, you unlikely to get a solid viewer, click, lead, or sale.
If you want them to stop scrolling and pay attention to your video, make sure you kick off with a bang! Use lots of color and movement, show off interesting and popular products, or use text to create intrigue within those first few seconds.
There are tons of design resources and techniques you can employ to help you in this regard. An example of this strategy in use would be a website that sells tooth whitening toothpaste
One way to get people to stop in their tracks while scrolling through their feeds is to use a statistic such as:
“90% of Americans wish they had whiter teeth!”
As you say or use text overlay you could show a smile with super yellow teeth.
That would definitely get some attention!
After you get attention, then you need to make sure to keep it.
2.) Keep Attention With Pattern Interrupts and Copy
Capturing attention is half the battle, keeping attention, then having a strong call to action is the second half of the battle.
Pattern interrupts are exactly as it sounds, something that interrupts people’s normal pattern. So if you’re trying to sell a keto cookbook, maybe show a woman eating a donut, because that’s not allowed on keto, but you have this amazing keto donut recipe!
Advertisers use pattern interrupts all the time. Talking lizards and dogs? Yup, pattern interrupts.
Also, keep it short and sweet.
Technically, you can publish a video that’s up to 15 minutes long on Pinterest. However, people’s attention spans are short, especially on social media.
That’s why the platform recommends short videos between 6-15 seconds long, as these typically perform best on Pinterest.
From a marketing standpoint, it’s always good to leave your viewers wanting more.
If your video reveals all the information, then users have no reason to click through to learn more.
It’s also a great idea to add a clear Call-to-Action at the end of your video. If you want someone to click to read your article, then say/overlay that. IF you want someone to opt-in or buy something, provide a solid offer.
3. Include Text Overlay
As I’ve discussed previously, adding text overlay to your video pins is a great way to make them stand out so you can capture and keep your viewers attention. Text overlay also adds context and helps to enhance your message overall.
To add text to your videos, upload your pin, then move the selector left or right to choose a thumbnail to use as your video cover photo. You can then include your text overlay somewhere in your video, preferably at the start of the video or at the end.
Since you have only a few words to get your message across, it helps if you have copywriting skills (or you can hire someone who does) to make sure your video pin has maximum impact.
For example, if you wanted to share short videos explaining about email invitation templates you offer, you might break it down and show each invite with its own text overlay to simplify things for viewers.
